Mission 2010 will see ALL ASBURY YOUTH go to Sugar Grove, OH, outside of Columbus, OH, to work on the Triple S Camp. Even though the Music ministry is planning the trip, THE MISSION TRIP IS FOR ALL ASBURY YOUTH!

What are we doing on the trip? We're going to work on getting the camp ready for underprivileged children for the summer. We'll do painting, repair a wall, and get the kitchen in shape-while we're cooking for ourselves. The Alpha Omega Choir will also sing several concerts. We'll write thank you notes for those kind folks who buy stock in the trip and we'll do some white water rafting as well as do a high ropes course. It'll be a blast.

Where are we staying? We'll stay in hotels three nights and at the camp the rest of the time. The hotels will be in Nashville and Cleveland, TN.

How much will the trip cost? We're asking each youth to pay $225 for the trip. That'll include everything (meals too) but spending money. The actual cost of the trip is about $450.00 per person, but we'll raise the rest of the money through the Phonathon and the music and youth budgets.

What adults are going? Our youth choose the chaperones on the trip. I speak to the adults that they suggest and we work from there to get a great team together. Here's their list: Bill and Louise Bowers, David and Terri Dawes, Danny and Dana Garrett, Lou and Carol Groth, Scooter Foster, Mark Belanger, Elizabeth Reinhardt, and Amelia Hoffman. Jan and I will go and so will Kyle Deroche. The adults will help drive a van, help corral the youth, and supervise their work and keep them from cutting off anything important. Note that adults do NOT do the work for the teenagers at any time. 

What do I have to do to go on the trip? Five things:

2.      Work the Phonathon March 1-18. You must work at least ONE night of the Phonathon. Sign ups will be available in the Cafe' and at Youth Choir Practice

3.      Be at 75% of youth group or Alpha Omegas or Sunday school or Bible Study.

4.      Make sure you and your parents pay attention to the mission trip information that we will send to you.

5.     Be at the pre-trip meeting on May 30 at 4:30 p.m. The meeting is mandatory for parents and youth.
